About Governique Assurance

Disciplined delivery. Clear ownership. Maintained assurance.

Assurance as a management discipline

Governique Assurance is based in Amsterdam, Netherlands. We support regulated and operationally complex organisations with enterprise risk assessment, internal-control design, compliance review, policy systems, audit readiness and continuity planning.

Our work focuses on material exposure and workable accountability rather than documentation teams cannot sustain.

Governique Assurance

Company backstory

Governique Assurance grew from seeing organisations prepare intensely for reviews while the underlying controls remained difficult to operate between them. Policies were detailed, but responsibility was unclear; evidence existed, but could not be located quickly; and corrective actions competed with everyday service demands.

Governique was designed to make assurance part of normal operations. Engagements begin by observing how processes actually run and mapping the obligations, decisions and handoffs that create risk. Existing safeguards are tested for design and operation, with gaps prioritised according to consequence and feasibility.

We help define evidence requirements, owners, review routines and remediation plans, then support teams as the framework matures. Continuity considerations are integrated where service disruption could create regulatory or customer harm. The result is clearer assurance for leadership and more practical control for operating teams long after a particular audit or compliance deadline has passed.

What the approach is built around

The practice is structured to help leadership gain clearer assurance while operating teams retain something they can actually use.

Materiality

Prioritise the exposures and obligations that matter most to service, regulation and customers.

Operating reality

Observe how processes actually run before defining controls, evidence and remediation.

Visible ownership

Make responsibility, review routines and follow-through explicit and proportionate.

Controlled maturity

Support improvement after initial remediation rather than treating a review as the finish line.

Our focus

Explicit accountability

Make ownership clear, proportionate and connected to real decisions.

Controls that operate

Test whether safeguards work in practice, not only whether they exist on paper.

Evidence in normal work

Build traceable evidence into existing routines so it remains accessible and maintainable.

Assurance should remain useful after the deadline passes

Engagements begin with current processes, obligations, decisions and handoffs. Existing safeguards are tested for design and operation, with gaps prioritised according to consequence and feasibility.

Governique then helps define evidence requirements, owners, review routines and remediation plans so the framework can mature without becoming detached from day-to-day work.

What good control looks like

  • Ownership is understood by the people doing the work
  • Evidence can be located without reconstructing the process
  • Remediation is prioritised and followed through
  • Continuity is considered where disruption creates harm
